CVOP™ Recertification
First, I want to express my appreciation for your dedication to the Virtual Organizing profession. Your commitment to enhancing the lives of your clients and our profession has been astounding, and I hope this message finds you well along your virtual professional organizing journey. As we continue to evolve in this new dynamic field, I wanted to take a moment to address a topic that has sparked some conversations among us – the concept of recertification and I’d like to shed some light on why it’s an essential component of our professional integrity and growth.
Recertification isn’t about simply renewing a piece of paper or fulfilling a requirement. It’s about embracing the ongoing journey of excellence, adapting to the ever-changing landscape of Virtual Organizing, leadership, and pioneering, and ensuring that you are equipped with the latest tools and strategies to excel in your work.
As you already know, the Virtual Organizing field is evolving rapidly, and as pioneers in this domain, it’s crucial for us to stay ahead and above the curve. By participating in recertification, you are making a deliberate choice to invest in your own success and the success of your clients. It’s a commitment to continuous learning, refining your skills, and elevating the value you bring to those you serve.
Remember that when you joined our certification program, you embarked on a path that represents professionalism, expertise, and innovation. Recertification is the next step in upholding those standards and ensuring that our CVOP™ community remains at the forefront of Virtual Organizing excellence.
As an alumni graduate, I strongly believe in your potential. I am confident that the journey of recertification will strengthen your skills, elevate its value, and expand your horizons. It’s an opportunity to connect with fellow professionals (FB Alumni networking, water cooler meet-ups), share insights, and collectively shape the future of Virtual Organizing. It’s not just about ‘leading’ it’s also about BEING a leader!
I encourage you to see recertification as a celebration of your growth, a demonstration of your commitment, and a way to set yourselves apart in an ever-evolving field. Your dedication has brought us this far, and I am excited to stand with you as we embrace the limitless possibilities that lie ahead.
Thank you for your trust, passion, and unwavering dedication to making a difference through Virtual Organizing and your CVOP™ credentials.
With appreciation,
Sheila Delson, CVOP™, CPO-CD

Introduction (Kick-Off)
As the first version of the CVOP™ recertification program, it is not perfect, but we all know that if we wait for ‘perfect,’ more delays are a sure bet! Instead, this is a work in progress, and I suspect in time, it will change. Meanwhile, I wish to thank everyone for their patience and many helpful task suggestions, some of which were included in the program. If you have any questions, please be sure to contact me directly.
Timeline Structure
For graduated classes of 2020 and 2021:
Because the recertification program has been delayed, I have extended the three-year rule to allow 2020 and 2021 Graduates enough time to fulfill the recertification requirements. Therefore, for graduates of 2020 and 2021, recertification will be due on or before December 31, 2024.
For graduated classes in 2022 and beyond:
Recertification is required every three years, on or before the last day of the month your certificate was issued.
Activity Groups for Recertification
- Select two or more activities from each of the three groups.
- Provide proof (as appropriate) to include direct links, copies, dates, names, and places. (See the Recertification Application.)
Outreach – Educational marketing to consumers & colleagues
Education – Alumni continued learning
Giving Back – To our CVOP™ Alumni community
Recertification Fee
Fee: $125.00
Why is there a fee?
- The fee is to ‘help’ offset the VO training Program administrative fees.
- I do not personally benefit from this fee.
Several of you have had concerns about paying for CVOP™ recertification, and a few have even suggested that other more grand/elaborate multi-member organizations do not charge for recertification. Remember, we are not a big, multi-member organization. Graduates do not pay dues, so there’s no additional incoming revenue. Beyond the initial cost of the training program, there are no other fees required of its graduates. As the sole developer of our CVOP™ training program, I manage and secure its code of standards, philosophy, and integrity. Why? Because I believe in its value for ourselves, our clients, and the Professional Organizing industry.

Why Recertify?
Not Intending to Recertify?
Suppose you choose not to renew your CVOP™ credential. In that case, you will be required to change all information on your website, business card, and marketing materials about your CVOP™ status within 30 days, and your company will be removed from the directory. Please get in touch with the Program Director if you wish to talk about this in more depth.
